Dr Chirag Desai is presently Chief Consultant and Program Director of the Department of Gl, HPB & Liver transplant surgery. He has extensive experience of Living-donor liver transplantation and had been working as a leading consultant at one of the best hospitals in India. He has a cumulative experience of over 1000 liver transplants. His clinical interests include ABO-Incompatible Liver Transplantation, Small-for-Size Syndrome, Living donor Liver Transplantation for Hepatocellular carcinoma and Laparoscopic/Robotic Liver Surgery. He played an important role in India’s 1st ABO – Incompatible Liver Transplantation in India (transplantation across the blood group) to increase the donor pools at Medanta the Medicity in Jan 2012.
